Thoughts on this Call with no award

Angel seems to indicate OBS, yet Werth is called out, myntake is that since F4 gets the ball so quickly, there no way Werth gets to third anyway and thus no award ???

If it was OBS, there was an award.

If the award was 2B, and the runner advanced beyond the awarded base, his out would stand.

That would be my guess.

Sure, had the obstruction not occurred (just past 2B) and a quick back-up by F4, there is no way R1 would have made it to 3B.  So there is nothing to fix. Out.

to the announcers credit, they went over the OBS rules in detail on yesterday's broadcast, explaining how Werth was protected in getting back to 2B, but not 3B.
