Toying with the idea of picking up a +POS Mask. I like the look of them.

Which mask would veteran umpires here that have knowledge of their product recommend? I umpire College and High School baseball so want something with a good record of keeping the dome safe (as possible). Also considering pairing with TW pads, but the dark tan +POS pads are very nice looking. Thanks for any input.

These two links are what I am looking at so far.

Plus POS sells very good equipment.

Their customer service/shipping leaves much to be desired.  It's a shame too, it didn't used to be that way.

I have 2 of the Zero G masks. They are by far, my favorites. I upgraded the pads to TW, but as I've said before, I did not get the results expected from the TW pads. I switched both masks back to leather pads. One set of black +POS pads and one set of Navy Doe Skin Honigs pads. I sold the TW pads to other UE members.

I personally do not have any horror stories regarding shipping. But know from people I trust that in the past that was true. I started with +POS back in the days when they held the MiLB contract and was all +POS at one time. (uniforms, gear, ball bags and Plate shoes). Once the founders passed away, Dan has been keeping the company going. I have full confidence in the gear he sells. I hope he can get +POS on good ground soon.

I currently have a complete mask on order placed Jan. 30. I was well aware of the customer service issues everyone has been having here for, well, ever. But since ball doesn't start till the first week of March, I figured he could get it to me by then. Anyway, I have maybe 5 emails into him from different avenues (the website, the automatic order email sent to me when I placed it, etc.),.

No reply whatsoever. And the phone number on the website is disconnected. Everyone seems to love the products themselves. The website is decent, and therefore misleading. It's pretty incredible how bad the service is.

Luckily, I found another mask. I'm still interested in what the +POS frame, pads and harness have to offer. If I don't want to keep any of the +POS items I'm sure I can sell them here for what I paid for them. Shoot, I should probably mark them up since I can get them to anybody within a few days versus having to wait for 2 months, haha.

The BB69 and the ZRO-G are truly siblings – they are both hollow steel, full bowl profile, and exceptionally well-crafted for the price(s). They both use the exact same pads.

The ZRO-G is the "prettier sister", though, with its curved chin guard and elegant, arrowhead-strut ear guards. This layout is deeply iconic, right in keeping with the Nike and the Wilson DynaLite. At passing glance, the ZRO-G can fool most into thinking they saw a Nike.

The BB69, by contrast, sports a chisel-point chin guard, and places its arrowhead ear guard struts low. This is atypical, and may have had something to do with harness placement, but this difference alone shouts "I'm not a Nike or a Wilson!" enough that the BB69 doesn't get a flock of admirers oogling it.

I used to have three ZRO-G's. I now have one, having sold the other two off to colleagues to become their primary gamers. One in particular actually replaced a Wilson Ti-LP! I'm considering getting another ZRO-G; I have no problem with waiting on the mask's delivery, but at present, I cannot have $80 tied up "in limbo" waiting for an undetermined time. I favor using ZRO-G's simply because I can breathe easier – there's a certain anxiety to sticking your face out into that environment with a mask on that took a considerable amount of effort / cost to acquire (my Nike Steel).

I also placed a few calls, to a disconnected number, and sent an email so far unanswered. It's a crying shame such good product (visually) has such terrible service. I am tempted to order a mask on my cc, and if it never ships to me, just file a dispute.
