Brutal. That's as much of a direct shot as you can take. I tried to find the info, but was curious as to what type of cup he wears. I recently moved to the nutty buddy, and it's so comfortable and strong feeling. I still wouldn't want this.

Well, he's definitely wearing one, at least.

I'm still surprised at the number of guys who wear theirs improperly. If it's flapping around in front of your meat and two veg and you take a shot, your cup itself will end up crushing important bits of the male anatomy.

Happened to me when I was working a 12u travel game last Memorial Day. I was wearing a generic cup and compression shorts. Inside pitch that the batter swong at, I heard the pop from the ball hitting the bat and down I went (only the second time I've been knocked down as an umpire, the other being a bouncer to the throat). Both coach who know me very well came running out to help. Both though I got hit in the leg. Both were wrong. They gave me some shade and let me catch my breath. After a 3-4 min delay and a drink of water we were playing ball again, alibiet gingerly.

After that happened I switched to the Nutty Buddy with a jock. I recently took a foul tip to the cup from an 18 year old and felt nothing. I heard the pitcher say from the mound, "That hurt me! How did he not go down?!" Moral of the story protect the jewels!!!!

Got a nutty buddy and don't think I'll regret the $30 spent ever.

Wearing a separate jock is important to keeping the cup in place. I don't think the compression pants with the built in cup pocket keeps the cup tight enough to your body.

I wear a Shock Doctor titanium in a jock and swear by it. I've taken several glances and one very hard shot that made everyone gasp in horror. It scared the bejesus out of me but I never felt anything.

I know its nit-picky, but how exactly did you take a foul tip to the junk?

I can see how they might work for some guys (or just be more comfortable), but yeah I'm with you. I bought Shock Doctor compression shorts with the pocket and I only ever use them as compression shorts with a separate supporter. I just felt like if I took a shot and my cup was in the shorts, I'd get all kinds of mangled.

I thought the looseness would be a problem, but it's not. It stays where it should very well.
