To me it looked like he stopped when F2 put his hands up. I thought Layne called time right after he stopped, but I agree with the no balk call.

The Catcher asked for time... Layne raised both his arms as if to call time ... When Smyly stopped his motion Layne says "That's a Balk"...

 

we have all been in situations where we had to or should have corrected a "bad" call.... But Layne seems to ALWAYS be in the middle of this type of stuff... God Bless Him.. He called a good game I believe other than that.

I think the ump calling time made him stop, I don't think he's going to stop mid-delivery otherwise.

Damn Layne! Back at it with the controversy!

 

Glad that didn't turn into a **** show though. Would be stupid, but there's some guys that would've been run for reacting to him signaling wrong at first.
