okay, so someone asked me a interesting question ...  maybe one of you have the answer...

Runner at 3B attempts to  steal home..,   in the course of home stealing,  he is struck by the pitched ball as hes about to cross the plate....    What's the ruling?

Me:  I HAVE NO IDEA...  THIS DEFIES ALMOST ALL LOGIC.

The ball is dead, the run scores, and other runners are awarded one base. The pitch counts and must be called.

In NCAA, only runners that were stealing are awarded the next base (the one they were attempting to steal).  If not stealing, they go back to their base at TOP.

I'll give you 20 to 1 that the poster is not using NCAA.

Good one.  I would not have known that difference off the top of my head.

I suspected the same, but thought others may benefit from posting the difference.

If the pitch happens to be strike 3 with 2 outs...batter is out and no run scores.
