No, ...I believe it was for what he said to Cole as he went to first.   If throwing your equipment in disgust on a swinging strike 3 gets you tossed, there's going to be A LOT more issues ....

There's another video on Votto about the EJ, but he doesn't explain anything

It seems that he was either ejected for throwing equipment, or because of something he said IN REPLY to something someone else said, but it doesn't look like he started an argument? HTBT I guess.

Regardless, his lack of self-control will be expensive, as it should be.

After reviewing some of the other available clips, he wasn't tossed for throwing equipment there were comments made on his was down to 1B to play defense.

Teddy got in there QUICK!

I'd calm down pretty fast too with Ted Barrett standing in front of my face.

He was tossed well after slamming his helmet.

oohhh that 1st stike was low.  Very relaxed foul tip mechanic by PU

Objection your honor!!! Irrelevant!

Relaxed is ok with me, as long as it's crisp and discernible. Furthermore, someone recently,  and rightly, asked me when my last MLB game was (after I criticized an MLB ump needlessly)... it was a great question and humbled me quickly. We're all learning together here!

The helmet toss (slam) happens all the time. The conversation with the pitcher happens all the time. Must have been some serious words to get him tossed.

Not sure why he didn't know he was tossed, I would think that someone would have been notified. Not sure what the procedure is at that level. The bump gonna cost!!

It could be a pre-emptive measure to make sure there are no shenanigans later in the game. Maybe they've been directed to start to nip these things in the bud. I'd be happy if that were to happen.

OK, so now we're not allowed to make an observation because we'll be accused of slamming our brethren in Blue?  I just said for me it was low, but maybe that was his zone all night, of course it does not excuse Votto's actions.
