Anyone ever get to work games with one of your best friends? Definitely makes the games a lot easier and a lot more fun (not that they weren't fun before)!

This is one of my good buddies Sean Lopez (left) and I (right) between games of our double header. post-3756-0-90740600-1429933027_thumb.jp

Good for you guys man......that's awesome.

However, I have a horror story for that.

Middle innings, I'm on the stick, great buddy in A position.    Check swing appeal......I call down " DID HE GO?"   And my buddy is talking with the 1B coach.

Never saw the pitch, the half-swing.......nothing.

We all have a good laugh (even though I'm appalled, inside)   We get done and it's very hard to really get through to your good buddy how bad that situation was.  You can chew on him, but it's not the same as some random partner.

Awe, that's awesome!

My dad umpires and I've been able to work a few games with him. I don't really like working with him though. He's over protective as a dad and it swells when coaches are giving me a hard time. It's best for us to work adjacent fields rather than on the same field.

I have been able to work many games with one of my very best friends, my 20 year old son. The best game was last weekend, a high school jv game where my 15 year old came in to pitch for the visiting team. I think any ideas of favoritism vanished when I called a balk on him for not coming set that led to the go ahead run.

I have worked with a "buddy" who one might call a "best friend" or something else, lots of fun because you know exactly how they work, plus you can knock alot of the pre-game conference out ahead of time.

I work with the same guy almost every weekend. We get along well and he lives close. So we carpool. It makes those 4 game grinds bareable.

Games Worked Too Damn Many
