This is the whole inside of my thigh from a foul ball. Aren't stitch marks great? It hit the catcher before me so I'm pretty sure he's a hurting unit today too. I've got another one from that game that isn't appropriate to show. Plus the one that still healing from two months ago, line drive to the shin during a power league softball game. Second baseman missed it.

Murphy has a lot of laws which are true.

Fall does seem to bring out the worst F2s. Did a 50/70 11u yesterday. Actually pretty decent ball for fall, but the F2's were bad. I escaped bruise-free, but every piece of equipment was tested at least once.  :shakehead:

You' re telling me nothing I don't know the hard way.  This past Sunday (yesterday) I had to dump the starting catcher for Veracruz in the Mexican Men's League of Olathe on Sunday in Game 1.   Top of first, first batter was starting catcher- he punched the F3 for Faraones, a big mother F*#Ker, after F3  stepped in front of bag and hard tagged him on first play of the game.  F3 punched back so I dumped them both.  I thought we were in for a long afternoon.

Replacement F2 for Veracruz is not up to the task of catching the righty F1 who is fresh out of pro ball for some team in the KC Royals organization.  He is flat bringing it for a rec men's league game.  Movement like most of us never get to see in person as an umpire.  Second batter in bottom of first swings at what I thought was either a cutter or slider,  coming in on his hands.  Batter misses, catcher misses, pitch doesn't miss me, hits my right wrist as my hand is alongside my knee in modified Gerry Davis stance and leaves embedded seam marks, immediately swells, i cannot feel my hand and somehow I step back and point a strike although My fingers did not want to curl.  Took about fifteen minutes before I could feel the hand and swelling like crazy.  Still pounding today but I can touch it, and move it with difficulty due to swelling.  I do not think it is broken but will go to doctor if it doesn't bounce back by Wednesday.

That will teach me to dump the only catcher with a chance of catching this ex-professional dominican fireballer.  Wish I knew his name, he doesn't speak English for SH*# and I couldn't even understand the name of the Royals farm club he played for when he told me.  I gotta get better at Spanish.

I do know that the pitch he throws gets a lot of head shaking and "sucio" from the batters as they watch it smoke/slide by.  Sucio is Spanish for "dirty" or "nasty".   Yes it is.

I had one incredibly amazing catch and 4 that were OK and one that just suck (which is where my bruises came from). The great catch was first and last up, he introduced himself to me as the "I'm Tom (not his real name), don't worry blue, I'm the secret service for umpires." kid cracked me up the whole innings he was playing.

Wasn't the Storm Chasers was it? We have one of KCs farm teams here, they used to be the Omaha Royals but Warren buffet got all up into that mess. That would have totally freaked me out having a subpar catcher with that level of pitcher. How many times did you get wacked? I hope you're OK.

Got this little tidbit from a coach this past Saturday for a fall ball game.....

"My teams looking pretty good this fall....but I got good news and bad news......the good news is I got 2 of my good pitchers .......I got half of my good infielders and the other half aint too bad.... and my outfielders are young but show promise.......

The bad news is ......

I aint got any catcher who can catch a lick...........so I will be trying a new kid every inning or so......and for that I apologize in advance..."

At least he warned me.....

Algebra : Collage :question1:

School sure has changed

I had to create a design using linear equations. That's what the 53 was.

OK..That makes sense now.
