On now, TX vs ILL. Pitch hits batters hands, announcers comment hands are on the bat, ball goes foul, PU doesn't know what to call, TX MGR comes out and they go to the "fence" for ruling. THEY call no pitch and a "do over" . . . batter stays with no count. Somebody please tell me I blinked, or I need new glasses, or a hearing aid!

No. They made it a point to say it isn't a pitch against his count. They literally made it up as they went.   It was called a foul in error. SO be it. You can't undo the call. Get the batter back in

I'm watching too. That's not exactly what happened. Batter swung, ball hit hand or knob of bat, ball rolled to F5 in FAIR territory, however, PU Yells loud 2 or 3 times "FOUL BALL, FOUL BALL". Announcers watch replay and state "hands are part of the bat" :smachhead:  :shakehead:

Replay shows batter swung and ball went fair off the knob of the bat. They go to the replay official and they declare a "do-over"

I thought the batter was pulling back to avoid being hit when I saw it. Yeah, that's what I meant when I said "announcers comment hands are on the bat"

. . . and they still got it wrong! . . . swung at, foul ball, count should have been k1.

Haven't seen it. But, if count was anything and 2, it might not have been a do over. Knob hits ball and a split second later hits batters finger near knob and then dribbles into fair territory. Batter hit by batted balkin box? Foul? Just guessing.

I never saw that happen before (do over).  It's a foul ball.  These guys are starting to make a name for us.

It was a complete do over. They took the pitch off the pitch count and returned the bater to the box with the previous count.

. . . but as we're all reminded throughout the LLWS, "they're all VOLUNTEER umpires and THEY pay their own way to do this."

The announcers are getting paid. And the people behind the screen who made the decision might be getting paid. Not impressive.

Terrible. Someone needed to realize that it was called foul, it's foul. Move on.

Instead they think replay is there to fix anything...

Ok I going to say this SO feel free to go at me. In the Pearland Chicago game on Tuesday night the plate umpire had 2 strike zones. One it for Chicago and a different one for Pearland. Come and get me!

I haven't watched a complete LLWS game yet so I wouldn't know, but from another thread, if you think not stopping is quick pitching I wouldn't trust your judgement.

I watched almost every pitch in the Tex/Chi game. Didn't notice "2 different zones" at all. Actually thought PU was having a decent game until the inadvertent foul call. He missed a pitch when he called a strike on a kid who almost got hit with the pitch, and it seemed his timing got quicker and started calling strikes too quick on curves breaking way out of the zone. I think the bad "foul" call rattled him.

I said I haven't watched a complete game but if you think I missed a QP because of not stopping in any LL game you would be mistaken. If you think not stopping is a QP then you are mistaken. If you think the strike zone in the game you referenced was biased you might be right but I wouldn't trust your judgement.
