Your money, but the the steel is a whopping 3 oz heavier than the titanium, hardly noticeable overall to me but ymmv.

I know the weight difference isn't noticeable. But, the view in the titanium is a very noticeable difference IMO.

I agree, the hollow steel isn't the best. In fact, I replaced the steel mask with the thinner solid steel one from my old MVP 2500 (with All-Star's permission).

Your exactly right. And as I previously stated, there is a noticeable difference in the view between the two.

Jeff...

I have both two MVP4000s and three cages....2ti and 1 steel. The steel cage uses the I-Bar technology and has some of the flat bars around the eye opening. The Ti cage is all round bars. The bars on the TI cage are all smaller than the ones on the hollow steel cage. It is the same basic shape and design, but the bars are different. Make sense?

@UmpireFever, please pardon the possible ignorance of this question...

Did you try contacting All-Star and attempt to get a Titanium cage in exchange for that Hollow Steel one?

When my FM4000 took a whack on the eyebrow bar and deformed, I thought for sure I'd get the jerk-around from yet another cold-hearted sports equipment manufacturer if I contacted them. At @JaxRolo's encouragement, I called All-Star, and to my wonderment, I actually got the chance to explain the situation to a real, live, breathing, conversational customer service person. I would have hugged them if I was in the same room as them. They asked if I would email in some photos of the deformed mask for verification, I did so, and a week later I had a brand new mask sent out to me. On my honor, we agreed that I would retire and/or trash the old one.

Perhaps you can request a titanium cage for an upcharge?
