I bought the 13" douglas CP back in march before the price increase. I do love it because to me it fits me better than the Wilson Platnium that I used to own, it is lighter and lower profile than my Platnium was and I feel that I am equally protected. I have taken many shots so far this year and to me there is no difference between the two. On the leg guards I agree with VAUmp above. I own a set of the Wilson Platnium leg guards, which I believe are identical to the Douglas, and I got them for $80. I just don't see paying what Douglas is charging for their leg guards now when you can get the Wilsons for $80-$90. Please do search douglas cp, you can read for days on here.

Why would anyone ever spend $190 on a pair of leg guards??

Because my shinnys are cooler than yours. Don't short change me either. They were $230 to my door. USA!

Imo, there's nothing different or special about them; they're just the best, so some good old boys in Teyhaas make a good living selling them (and re-selling them for nearly retail price as 'reconditioned').

@mbkcoach ... Yes.  I tried Davishins this year.  I wore them twice and didn't like them.  I went back to the featherweight.  They aren't the best out there, but I've never had an issue with them.

Want to buy some Davishins???

@vaumps do the feather weights turn on u behind the plate? Do I need to tighten them up? The top strap do u put above your calf? If the top strap goes below my cal they really move a lot. Coach me up on how to wear them successfully. I'm also 245lbs and they aren't very wide for my tree trunks.

I would worry if the Featherweights turn on anybody in the bases

All good points regarding costs. On the other hand I've had mine for over 15 years, paid ~ $150 back in the day.

Completely worth it.

Never had an issue or pain except for that one shot right on the knee cap, which seems to be a weakness/hazard for all shin pads based on other threads.

Me. They're bullet proof. Been blasted many times and haven't felt a thing. They don't print under my polywools either. They are awesome!
