Federation rules 2 man mechanics

Runner at 1B and Runner at 2B, pitcher attempts pickoff of runner at 1st, pickoff is unsuccessful and ball goes into foul territory,(no dead ball territory any factor), R2 goes to third on pickoff attempt and continues to home plate when ball is in foul territory.  After playing action stops, coach appeals R2 missing 3B.  My question is  whose is responsible for the missed bag appeal and why

I'd say it would be PU but that's going to be low on the priority list, as PU has to go over and make sure the ball doesn't go into dead ball territory. It's just one of the likely holes in the 2 man system.

This is the head on the swivel scenario. On balls to the outfield in the cone with BU in the working area, HP has touches at 3B and BR into 1B. Often they are almost simulatneous. I try to back up and get as large a field of vision as possible, but sometimes ya just can't see EVERYTHING. Similar to the OP, I reckon.

In your OP, dead ball possibility takes priority over missed bases. Just one of those things.

BUT, I SUSPECT SOMETHING HAPPENED IN YOUR GAME AND YOU DISAGREED WITH THE INFO YOU GOT FROM THE CREW.

Home Plate has touches at 3b because thats the way it is.

Watch the ball...glance at runners.  Coach better not come out on me about that...I'll tell him that he's talking to the wrong guy.  I didn't put the ball in RF and I ain't taking a chewing for a bad throw.

And the PU also has a possible play and touch at the plate on R2 coming home, making the missed base appeal even lower as a priority.
