These are my primary shins.  I love'em Rolo.  The pads are removable and wash up very nice.  I don't know the weight but for me they are not cumbersome or bulky.  I got hit Weds. night square on the knee with no effects.

I suggest looking into the Finshins, you won't be disappointed, they are super light and comfortable.

I love mine.  They are not low profile by any means.  But, they are bullet proof.  They are not the coolest out there but cooler no warmer than the Platinums I used to have.  They have an inner liner that is seperated from the outer plastic shell.  I have never felt a thing when getting hit (I took a wicked shot last night, big noise but, no effects).  The padding is thick and comfortable.  The lower padding is removable/washable, knee padding is not.  The toe plate is tied on so you don't need to cut it off.  The plastic hardware does not rust.  They come in many sizes.  The typical 17" SG is a little too long for me and tends to twist on me.  So i have 16" in these.  Finally, they are less than $60.

Bullet proof, heavy, huge, washable pads...used mine 2 seasons and got rid of them. Way too big thru the knee area and made them hard to run in. I have Wilson grey now and love them.

I concur with TRav. I love these shins! Barely know I have them on. Think I may have figured out the ankle protection issue as well. SWAMBO was working on something for me involving the padding and plastic ankle guards from an old pair of WestVest Pro shins. I also had a partner give me an old pair of the velcro ankle attachments for an old pair DaviShins as a back up.

I had worn the previous version (I believe was called the K30) that had thin ankle protection.  I remember taking a passed ball to the ankle which swelled it for about a week.  I soon purchased the Wilson leg guards because I needed the thick plastic ankle protection that those offer.  Has the ankle protection been upgraded/improved on this newer Honig's model? Anybody taken any good shots with these to the ankle?  Thanks!
