I've decided to upgrade my shin guards and noticed a lot of good references to the Force 3. I measure 17 1/4 inches, but that falls between the 16.5 and 18.5 options. Do I go up a size or down? Also, do you recommend these shins for upper level games like HS Varsity as far as protection?

For what I'd read in the ABUA website they suggest to go with the smaller version in relation to your measurment.  So to make it simple for you, 16.5".  They are a solid piece of equipment that I will use even for College Baseball.  That's how much confidence I have in the product.  But always remember that is your decision which one to get, but get it.

Do you have to be an ABUA member to buy their equipment? They have their chest protector discounted about $100 when you buy their shins.

No, you don't have to be a member to purchase in the ABUA store.

I wore them for a 19 inning game today. Those shin guards are so light. I actually was not dragging out there. I used to wear a 17 and now have the 16.5. They fit just fine. Keep in mind that they are stiff out of the box so it will take a few games to loosed them up.

I own them and do college and high school. Don't be afraid to wear these.

How much do they run right now?

The leg guards run any time user has it attached to the legs and the user runs.

@gnhbua93 just putting his 2 cents in

Have you taken any hard shots?

I paid $100 at the NCAA Clinic.  I was able to talk them down $9 by mentioning that I bought the chest protector back when I couldn't buy both as a package deal.

So you also own the force 3 chest protector? What do you think of it? Money well spent?

If it were me wearing the shin guards, about a 7 flat 40.

"If" you are an ABUA member (I believe any level above the free membership) - you can get the chest protector and shin guard package for $254.95 + $9.95 shipping, which puts the set in the same price range as buying a Wilson Gold CP and the Wilson Gold shin guards - for comparison.

Took a couple of very hard shots today and was elated with the results. There isn't a whole lot of padding to them, similar to the all stars. But, no pain involved with the shots, unlike the all stars. I sold those all stars after two games. Hurt like he** when I took shots to the ankle. These Force 3 shin guards are unbelievable.

I just bought my Force 3 shins but will not get to use them for a couple of months...We're currently at -15 here in Illinois with snow piled up everywhere. But that didn't stop me from strapping them on around the house.
