I know most of you don't care but had successful surgery today. Had the big joint by the big toe replaced and they also did something with my plantar fasciitis. Not taking happy pills yet since I can't feel my leg yet. But Dr said it will hurt! I should be ready to go by the start of the HS season.

Thanks for sharing. Always fun to celebrate successful stories, and the amazing accomplishments of modern medicine on a fellow umpire certainly fits the bill.

Will give you a great reason to sit with your legs up and read the rulebook while posting even more in here!

And if the happy pills add a new dimension to your posts, we all benefit.

I have it in both feet. Quite an annoyance some days, downright debilitating on others.

I failed, in my earlier post, to wish you a speedy recovery, Jax. My apologies, and get back on your feet soon...

When I went through this, I kept delaying my pain meds thinking that this would reduce the recovery time, and I thought I was tough enough to go without...neither were true.

Take the meds that you need. If you've never been a drug abuser, you should not have a problem giving up the oxy/codeine when the time comes. You need to give your body time to forgive you for allowing this to be done.

Hang in there, bruda.

Thinking of you!  Hope you are following the doctors orders and taking the pain meds.  I tried to follow my own direction when I tore my hamstring. Set me back a week in recovery.

The doctors are usually right.  when it comes to pain they have great drugs.  Take them and try to rest. ESPN, ESPN2 and Sportnet was made for men to recover by!

Feels a little better today. But still hurts. Time for another oxycodone. Spent most of the day sleeping yesterday.
