back on the field....finally

My fall season is finally underway. 5 games last Sunday, 5 yesterday. We're doing Sundays only since the jackwagons here in Alabama would prefer to watch some amateur football or some other such garbage

Anyway, in my 4th game (second on the stick) I wasn't happy with my zone. I felt like I was all over the place. About 2 innings in, I get to test my TWs with a foul. Kinda staggered me a bit, but all good. Play on. Next half inning....POW! TWs are tested again. Now I have a revelation.....my head was too low. I adjusted my head height and all of a sudden the zone is in HD. I'm dialed in and not another shot (also cured the flinches I developed from getting shelled).

Great to be back on the field after a serious case of punchout withdrawals.

I had 4 games this weekend. 2 9U saturday 2 16U sunday.

 

the 2 9U games were better played than the 16U

I called some a couple weekends ago. Definitely not great ball.

 

I have to cure myself of any blinking or anything like that, after 6 years you would tihnk i could do it, especially since I used to be a catcher. I guess it's the difference of me not controlling the ball

Had a U18 DH Saturday and a single on Sunday.  Bad, bad supposedly good baseball all around.  2 2 and a half hour games Sat. and a 3 and half hour 11 inning gibbeting Sunday.  I've blocked off the rest of fall.

Always a good thing to call some ball after a break!  I don't know what it is out here in Central California but it seems like it's feast or famine when it comes to games.  I went from absolutely nothing for about a month and a half to about 9-10 games a week.
