No, there are a segment of the umpiring world that does. 

The reason I don't like them:

1. The color is a horrible shade

2. The color matches nothing else

3. They look like Dickie work pants

4. They come from Gerry Davis

5. Most have three belt loops in the back, it looks silly and most miss one then regularly

6. The side belt loops are placed oddly so it kicks your ball bags on your butt instead of your hips

Reasons to like them:

1. They are well made which means they last so they be ugly for several years

2.?????

Our HS assignor gets a good deal on GD pants, though I have yet to buy any.  I should probably get some next season, however, because I will be working more varsity and would like to match my partner if all he has is GD.

 

I guess that's #2 reason to like them - to match your partner when GD is all he has?

I would only wear Davis pants if the person assigning my games told me I had to.  I don't care if every other guy wears them, they're ugly.

I've been told that the Honig's are the best pants in poly wool, however, I'd love to know what the minor league umpires are wearing.

MiLB umpires are using the Ump-Attire Poly-wools. Either are very good, I personally wear Smitty's charcoal. Never be caught dead in GD pants.
