10-11 LL district game. Losers bracket final. Winner goes to championship game(s). Bot 1 I call a kid safe on a steal of 2nd and the AC starts chirping. I shut him down. In between innings I go to get some water where the TD left it for us and the AC starts to talk some more. "You got be kidding me on that call at 2nd blue. You were out of position and that's horrible." I probably could've got him right their but this was an "important" game so I said that's enough and gave him some more rope. He promptly hanged himself with "your awful"

It's amazing the things coaches think they can get away with!
Only if we let them! Agree if more umpires took care of business we would eject less, Guys that tell me "I haven't ejected anyone since 1954" are not taking care of business.

Sad but true statement. In this area, youth league coaches tend to beat the heck out of inexperienced umpire's. And even though they're getting their butts handed to them  by out of line coaches, they're hesitant to pull the trigger.

Its funny the 4 young umpires I am sponsoring/training get more tosses early in the year AND THEN almost none the rest of the year. They know the 100 monkey rule.

After the game my partner told me (I had realized this anyway after the incident) that I should've gotten him right there. But as it turns out it didn't matter. He confirmed his desire to no longer be a part of that nights festivities.
