Head First Slide while advancing in LL Jr. Div (Yes/No)

Is sliding head first into an advancing base legal in LL Jr. Division? I see where in LL Majors and below it is not. Can you point me to the Rule # if it isn't allowed?

It is allowed in Juniors and above.

Disallowed in Majors and Minors.

7.08 (a) (4) prohibits head first slides in the Major Division and below. That is the only reference.

History lesson: The research showed head injuries were prevalent in 10 and younger but because 10s can play in Majors they made it illegal in all 60 ft. All 90ft it is legal to slide headfirst.

7.08 a (4) says Tee Ball, Little League Majors & Minors only. 

 

 

Based on that statement, by default, Intermediate division is allowed to.

Their logic is there is very little surface area on the inside of the donuts, that means a little wear and away it goes.

Not really.  I don't work LL and even I knew that distinction.

It's a legit question that did come up in a clinic meeting. Never assume.

To simplify they made the distinction of advancing only. It is possible to go the entire length of the baseline, slide headfirst while returning.
