If you fellow brothers in blue suffer from some joint pain (particularly knee pain) I wanted to mention Bio-Freeze.  I saw this product mentioned on the ABUA forum and thought I'd spend the $12.50 for a tube of this stuff.  I must say that it does a much better job of relieving my knee pain than just about every thing else OTC that I've tried.  Just thought I'd spread the word, might help some of you guys!  BTW, I had to buy my tube at a chiropractors office.

I don't think its available in stores anymore based on discussions with an official in another sport.  Depending on your relationship with the training staff at the local HS or college or PT place, you can see if you can get them to order you a tube for you to buy from them.

I use some stuff for ache's and pains after my long training runs.  It's called proform and it's by bio-freeze.  You can get it in a variety of forms and it works amazingly well.

Bio freeze G'zOne in cream, roll on and spray. It works very well. Most chiropractors carry it but so do physical therapy places.

Well, after tearing my medial meniscus and long waits to get into the Ortho Dr. (which cost me my post season of spring ball), we opted for therapy and a shot of depomedrol in both knees (after he drained a ton of fluid out of the right knee...ouch!)...I feel so much better that I'm going to try to work tonight!

Last September, I had a total knee replacement.  Two weeks into PT, I was in my plate stance.  The PT saw me do this, asked WHY I did it, so I explained.  HS baseball starts in March, and I"M going to be ready.  So she made this part of my work out.  So while my knee pain was a result of being bone on bone, they just cut out the part that hurt.  Still trying to get back as close to 100% as I can w/running while on the bases, but no pain on plate.

A partner of mine in basketball swore by this liniment called Absorbine for her shin splints. It's made for horses (no joke) but apparently a lot of humans use it, from the Amazon reviews!
