After nineteen years of umpiring finally had a runner pass a preceding runner, Almost didn't get it I was so surprised.

I don't know if I posted this before - I had it happen 5 or 6 years ago in a LL game.  R1, batter hits a gapper.  R1 stops at third - is standing ON third while BR, never looking up, chugs into third as well.  Sees runner standing on the base and runs right by him AND the 3rd base coach.  I called him out.  I got differing opinions on whether or not it was the right call.

this was a HS varsity game. Ball hit in the gap, LF and CF both converging on the ball, So runners are holding up. Niether catches it, Runner on first retreats back to first while BR keeps going.

I had a 9U game a couple of years ago where R1 passed R2 who inexplicably (a word I use a lot at this level) remained standing on 2B.  At the same instant the out call was made R1 turned around to retreat (at the instruction of the 3BC) and plowed right into R2 who had just left for 3B on an overthrow.  2 bloody noses and a lot of confusion.

Had my only one in a high school game. Would have been the kid's first hr, but the base runner decided he might tag up at first and the batter rounded the base and ran right past him. Felt bad for him as I ran back to the plate laughing.
