Anyone have any experience with this model? Looking for something to rotate in with my All Star System 7.

I just bought a Platnium and love it. I spke with Wilson about the CP's and they said that the 3209 was the original West Vest protector, and through modifications they now have the Gold and Platnium. The 3209 is good and comes in the 12" and 13.5" sizes. I bought my Platnium at www.cheapbats.com and they sell the 3209 at $98 and change and baseball.epicsports.com has them for $90 and change. You can't go wrong with Wilson CP's as your main CP or back up.

That was my first protector.  Pads about an inch.  It was kind of big on me.  Not sure what size/length.  I never got hurt or felt anything when I got hit wearing it.  Except for the ones that hit me in the stomach or arm or wrist or hand or inner thigh...........

My problem with it was it was heavily used when I got it and it had not been cared for properly.  Rusty rivets, and a recurring B.O. smell that was activated whenever I sweated in it.  I tried lysol, washing it, etc.  The pads just absorbed the odor and wouldn't let go.  I don't know if it is a candidate for TW pads but I do know the chest padding is removable.  At least on the one I owned it was.

Where was it big at? Across the shoulders or across the stomach?

I also have the wilson and it is big on the shoulders. Would anybody have any recommendations for a smaller chest protector that doesn't stick up in the shoulder area? I was looking at the champion body armour CP but a little concerned about protection. I'm a smaller guy and someone pointed out to me that the next CP I get be smaller so it would look better.

Small WV Gold. 10.5 inch in front appropriately proportioned shoulders.

Douglas would be my recommendation. I'm 5'7 150 pounds and it fits me awesome, especially with a delta flex harness. Or as many have suggested trying the force 3 which I'm assuming would mold to your body with wear.

Thanks! I was looking at the Douglas, but looks a bit pricey for my taste. I may go with the Champion.

The Champion hard shell is low profile and doesn't give you the "linebacker" look of the Wilson protectors. I've seen a lot of guys wear it this year.

The All Star System 7 is also very low profile. It and the Douglas are just pricier. If I were just getting started and didn't want to spend $150+, I would get a Champion.

Ever try to get the smell of dog / cat / vomit / stanky beer out of a sofa cushion? Never can quite get it out, right?

Yup. Buy a Wilson. Just like a college couch. They use the same foam padding. ;)

Uhhh I'm so bad at making decisions. The wilson chest protector I've used for 5 years is fine, but it sticks up in the shoulders and I hate it now that someone brought it too my attention! But I can't decide on whether to buy the Champion Body Armor for $55 or wait a couple months till I have the funds to buy the douglas for $180.

Does anybody currently use the Champion Body Armor for high school ball and is the protection sufficient? I hate returning stuff so I'd like to make the right decision. Thanks!
