After game 2, I'm heading straight to Rec scrimmages to be evaluated/qualified to call there. A whole day of baseball!!! I'm so amped up!!!

I'm so jealous! Here is northern IL, HS doesn't start for another 3 1/2 weeks. I'm in preparation mode...treadmill, stationary bike, exercising, and of course, reading and attending clinics.  I can hardly wait!

No worries. I'm a chip off the old............jock??? That sounded better in my head. Lol

Anyway, I have the 1st game jitters, but I know the second I step on the field I'm where I belong and all is right with the world.

Just an update. I got an email from arbiter telling me I'd been unassigned :

Not knowing what was going on, I called my (would have been) partner Pete, who informed me that I am replacing a guy who took NCAA assignments for that date. I've been bumped from a DH at one school to a TH at another! That's right, folks. My 1st day on the field will be 21 innings! Yay me! 3 HSV games as my season opener. That's a 1st for me. After the final out, I still have to go to rec evals (???) So the whole day will be devoted to the game I love. About to get my gear out of moth balls and pack my motherlode! I'm so jacked up!

Have seven assigned games over a two and a half weeks next month. Including two marque Marc ups.

1st game = 5 inning 10 run rule (started @ 1pm)

2nd game = 7 inning 9-7. Decent game.

3rd game = 5 inning 10 run mercy rule (ended at 7:15 pm)

Not a bad day. I was rusty and out of practice, but it's like a bicycle. Finally broke into 2013!!!!!

Sounds like a good day! Have my first scrimmage in 2 weeks. I'm hoping the temperature gets into the 40's by then.
