In Missouri, the 50 question Part 2 is available from March 18 through April 15. Not taking or passing it results in probation which makes you ineligible to work the post-season. Fellow MO guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but Part I seems to be only given to new umpires or those that let their certification lapse. (It says "Part 1 Exempt" on my Official's page and I ain't gonna' push it!)

To get the Part 1, I guess you'd have to get access to it and try to print it, or find someone to do it for you.  But I think (uh-oh) that there are a series of tests that keep the Q's & A's mixed up but keep the content basically the same.

... and a "Rules Meeting" is required. It can be done online as well, or at one of a very, very, very few pre-scheduled meetings with an interpreter.

However I need to go through through the state online concussion clinic again.

haha. We do too.Every year, have to watch the same video.

In Utah, you have to register every year and take the NFHS Part 1 test through the Arbitersports.com website to work regular season games. Then you have to take the Part 2 test to be eligible to work post season along with other requirements. It is only offered online. However, in the past someone has always come up with a hard copy to use to study the test without having to sit in front of the computer the whole time. And it is true the online test has the same Q & A's, but in various orders. So, I was just looking for a hard copy of the test.

WA is every two years. Mine expires end of next month so I have to redo it. Our state test is a Powerpoint presentation that we have to do every year as well as a 50 question test online.

Last year we finally switched from a paper-based mail in to our associatin test, to the NJSIAA test on line via arbiter. This year's should be out any day now.

The NFHS exam became available online today. Of the 100 questions i completed, there were two where the wording gave me pause.

Here is one.

If a batter crouches or leans over to make the shoulder line lower, the umpire shall adjust the strike zone accordingly. True or False

If I define the word accordingly to mean "in conformity with the preceding" I get False. If I go with a definition of "in an appropriate manner", I say True

Thanks. That was my initial feeling.

Here's the other one, maybe I'm splitting hairs.

When a player is incapacitated during play:

                     Time should be called except when the injury occurs during a live ball play and a putout is possible.  { or no further advance is missing from statement}

Time would be called if further play could jeopardize the injured player's safety.

                     Time would never be called.

                     Both A and B.

As you can see I still went with A too.

How can it be B if A says you can call time.?

It is A & B.  In the world we live in, FED will never print that you shouldn't call time in the case of an injury.  To do so would be legal suicide.

A & B are two different options and they are both correct. Where is your confusion Jax?
In B it says time would never be called. A says time would be called How can it be both?

NO, that is choice C that says "Time will never be called" and choice D is Both A & B. Correct answer is D.

That don't actually put letters by the choices simply a blank circle like this o. The circles didn't come through on my cut and paste job.

Each line in my post is word for word. 4 choices. The last one is correct. I said they don't put letters by each choice, but now that I think about it, I can't recall. I'm assuming not because when I copied and pasted they are not there.
