lol, well you were done with your project and my mask did start with the FM25 frame...

 

but yeah, that's a sweet look and I'm glad they're leather pads. I much prefer those black straps over the gray ones I've also seen.

I don't know what it is, but I just love them. (I also like gray uniform shirts.) There's no reason why black and tan should be the only pad colors for umpire masks. I am glad that royal blue is a thing of the past, but even dark navy's not so bad.

I had a buddy show up to do a scrimmage with me, and I said, "Nice Official's Choice shirt!"

 

He said, "How'd you know it's an Official's Choice shirt?"

 

I said, "Because I can see right through it and read the logo on your undershirt." Then I handed him a spare Majestic to actually go out onto the field with.

 

Another guy had the pro blue Official's Choice with those distinctive buttons of theirs that turn pink after two or three machine washings, and I said, "Are those breast cancer awareness buttons?"

 

Official's Choice, where you get precisely what you pay for.

Call me crazy. Isnt this mask sold for $25 at Academy? And the pads $35 online? I hate to rain on the sellers parade but like they say a sucker is born everyday on ebay.

The fact it's fetching over $85 so far on Ebay is due to my hard work!

Ha, nice.  I purchased the FM25 from an Ebay seller for $15 shipped.  That was crazy cool.  And I tried to keep it with those pads (acquired from an umpire here), the purpose originally was to wear it, but me being the weirdo with the skull helmet/mask combo, the pads didn't sit correctly so I had to sell it.   It looks awesome.

@alex7, I remember that FM25 being on ebay, I almost put a bid in on that one, but a black diamond caught my eye that I bid on instead, my first bid was the only one. Got it for $10 shipped!

The ebay route is what I took when I got my Douglas CP. It was listed in the  wrong section---I found it among motocross and paintball protectors with one bid on it. I swooped at the last second and I got it for one dollar over the other highest bid. 

 

It's cool when it works like that.

The rig with harness and disposable pads is <$30. Then load it with whatever pads you choose. Whole shebang with TW for <$70. Voila'. Or go to my newset post in the buy/sell/trade ;)
