That'll go for $120 or a little more. It looks good.

I have one that I truly never use. It's such a good rig, but I just prefer the Gold for the premier work (summer, fall and winter college); and then I go with the Douglas for everything else (H.S., MSBL, etc.). I've lent the Platinum to a partner once in two years, and I haven't used it myself in nearly that long. Cutting loose with it is in the plans now, I suppose.

First of all, ...you're probably better to start your own thread.....but before you do that .....I'd suggest going to the "equipment" forum, and searching ....there is a TON of info on chest protector opinions, reviews, thoughts, etc there .....

I have no experience with the zero gravity but have heard some questionable things about it , I'd go for the Platinum as a sure thing.

This advice is worth far more than two cents. It's worth a pretty good chunk of cash and a bruise-free chest.

Brian nailed it: For the quality, value and protection, there is no fair comparison to be made between the Wilson Gold/Platinum (flip a coin), and anything offered by Honig's. No comparison.

But then again, what does it matter? It's only protecting your human heart, the key to remaining alive.

P.S. When you get drilled while wearing a CP with the plastic plates on the outside, the ball is changing direction (deflecting) much sooner in the drilling process. When the plate is on the inside of the pads, the ball penetrates more, giving the wearer more of a shock. I'm no pussy, but I still like feeling as little as possible from a drilling to the chest and shoulders. So I wear a Gold and sometimes a Douglas (the forerunner to the Gold) and before that, I wore a Platinum. I had my pads-on-the-outside experience. All it takes is one before you get smart.

Take our advice rather than taking your lumps. Stick to buying just the uniforms from Honig's. They're safe.

Im in as well...........Im a platinum guy, but the Gold is excellent as well......take your pick you wont be disapointed.....or in my opinion, safer....
