Not much left, but got some great accessories cheap.

Got my order yesterday. Already got the refund for the one out of stock item.

Not sure what all you guys are complaining about. I have ordered three times from him when he has had his big sales. While orders might take a week to ship, he has always done right by me and processed refunds when he is out of stock on something.

Got a notice of refund today...sock are out of stock.

Still waiting for shipment confirmation...should come soon. I hope. Really don't need the accessories until spring...so I am not in a big hurry.

I have faith...

I didn't complain about it here but I'll give what happened to me as a example. I placed a order and all but 2 pairs of pants were out of stock according to the email notice (and I received a refund for all but the 2pr of pants). When I received my shipment there were only one pair of pants and they were not the size I had ordered. I contacted Ralph and he sent me a label to ship them back (a non pickup label so i had to take the package to UPS, but I didn't really think that was a big deal). He received the pants he had incorrectly shipped to me back and he tells me he is out of stock in the size I had ordered and that he will refund me for the pants that were not shipped and the wrong size pants that were shipped. This means I did not get anything at all from that order. I asked about having the shipping charges refunded since I did not receive anything I ordered (except for the wrong size he sent by mistake). They refused. My only other option would be to chargeback, but it's more trouble than it's worth. Not a real big deal, but I ended up paying $9.99 and I didn't get anything I ordered, plus I had to take time out to bring a package to the UPS store.

I'm just guessing, but there's probably a few other guys out there that ended up being less than satisfied. I chalked it up to just being a part of the numbers game...he just got overloaded.

mine, 7900 came early via USPS, I assume it shipped the day or the day after I got my refund.

You try being an elderly retiree without web savvy, and operate a web-based store to accompany your local distributorship. That's what he did, and when he decided to close down, he got shelled, and his behind-the-curve ordering and fulfillment system made the roof fall in.

I feel badly for him. I can only imagine the scope of the nightmare. I hope it doesn't kill him.

If I were in his area, I'd offer to take it over. As it is, the commute to the organizations in his area wouldn't be worth it. :banghead:

I asked him about taking it over and he told me to make him an offer. But I have no clue what to offer.

There's nothing to take over. It has no estimable value. It was a couple of townhouse garages of stock in the complex where he lives. Plus, you're in Florida. If you're buying a web store, you can do way better.

One of the umpires around here was helping him try to keep it alive the last couple of years. His web presence, high prices and rather bare selection all made it a little tough for him. Around here, if you needed something fast, you just drove out there and he had your stuff waiting for you. Or you would stock up before the season when he set up a table at the annual clinic. But the industry passed him by.

Now, we only have Honig's. They're somewhat farther away, and not nearly as friendly. :banghead:

thanks for the photo's . now lets see if i get the order ?? do you have to sweat a little with the new leather pads to get them to mold to you face shape ? and when you take a shot to the cage , it is better than the stock pads ??

d62 marc

kyle here is a photo with the new pads , this will take getting use to . the mask is noticeably heavier now , which is a no brainer . the markwhort pads are very stout , and weight more, to say the least . compared to the stock diamond . did this bother you at first ? i have been wearing around the house a little and the added weight is obvious . any comments .

I took one shot to the jaw in a Juniors game, and ditched the original Diamond pads. They're dangerous, and I don't mind the extra few ounces, in fact I appreciate them.

The pads that came on the magnesium Champro were better, but I still trust the WV leather in front of my brain. I got a concussion with the old +POS SUL many years ago, and got off the "lighter is better" bandwagon. Light is good, don't get me wrong, but I also want protection. I like the light, strong frames, with substantial pads backing them up.

I like the light weight diamond moisture wicking pads.... but there is a time and place for them.. i would not recommend them for games where you will be seeing 70 - 75 plus... I have enjoyed them for some of the cal ripken and younger babe ruth tourney's i've worked when you end up w/ multiple PU games in one day

I've run across two 12 year olds in Little League that threw 80mph. One kid broke the mask of an umpire, and it was a stout double bar. It nearly knocked him out too. If you do any sort of tournament ball, you never know when one of these freaks might show up. I had one in my league for a season, and was a challenge to track that speed from 46'.

Softball is the place for those wimpy pads, IMO. Don't take the chance with your brain.
