So I just got back into Jacksonville a month ago to start my new year at UNF. Finally got a closet big enough to have a dedicated umpiring section in my closet. I should preface this by saying that I am absolutely anal about my gear. Everything has a place, a correct way to hang, and a particular cleaning and hanging process. So I spent about 20 minutes today moving everything into this closet, hanging my shirts and pants and undershirts, and organizing the top shelf-hat, socks, brushes, indicators, belts, ball bags, and cleaning stuff, all neat and in order. Hung my CPs, set my shoes in order, and left spaces for my new plate ( to Kevin Finnerty) and base shoes. Then I just stepped back and admired it all. Finally, my stuff wasn't spread out on the dining room table or steeping in its own stench in my bag. Apparently I stood there admiring for about ten minutes, because my girlfriend (who is very understanding about the Obsession that is umpiring) stuck her head in the closet and said "It's been ten minutes. What the HELL are you staring at?"

As someone who is definitely less gear-obsessive than those on this thread, I have to say I'm a little weird-ed out.

My stuff hangs in my closet, alongside work stuff and "normal" clothes, and I'm happy if/when I have room. There's no sorting, color-coding, or anything like that.

Of course, I don't have nearly as much gear as others, either, and that's another thread for another time. Or not.

I got that when I ordered my six Smitty shirts in the space of two weeks. But then I worked a tournament with Rolo and we got to wear pretty much every color and keep dry. She got it then lol

Try adding soccer, I have six colors in both long sleeve and short sleeves. I also have multible versions of the six. When I have to carry both during overlap I have a very full back seat rack.
