Yes ... the large Ziploc Big Bags are the preferred size, but the XL works too, if the L is unavailable.

Yes ... remove the handle. The bucket sleeve comes with a carrying strap.

Kevin, ...

the question I believe was ...

Do you have to take off the metal handle that comes w/ the bucket?

The sleeve fits almost like a glove around the bucket. Maybe Under Armour compression for the bucket is a better comparison. To properly use the sleeve, the handle must be removed. I have the Diamond sleeve on a Diamond bucket (6 gallon).

WHOLY CRAP!!! This is something I never thought of. WOW. Im still trying to get into the college unit here in the PacNW... I might just have to put this into effect when I audition this year.

Frankly, if somebody is going to be that much of a control freak to lose it over cleaning shoes, who knows what other idiosyncrasies might make him flip? I sure hope there's another layer to the story there but knowing some of the egos in officiating, there probably isn't.

There really isn't. This big shot college umpire shows up at the high school meeting rejoining the unit after several years of being too good for high school. So, obviously there was a lot of curiosity about why he got dropped. Three different umpire circles all had the same story about how he was on a D-I crew doing a weekend series and the crew chief took umbrage at his hurrying to get cleaned up and out of the locker room, while their evaluator was going through the post-game.

It was a major insult--perhaps one of many, I don't know. I do know that the guy just leaves after games he does with us. So I could see this happening.

And I was obviously half-joking about what triggered my use of the big bags. It really is an idea borne of my desire to give less time to gear care immediately after games, and more time to the post-game input session. When I'm by myself, or with someone I know well, I clean everything right after the game.

Just picked up another Home Depot empty spray bottle for my FSB, and .......a small, .60 flashlight!! :D

I like the flashlight idea. Esp after going back to my car after a night game.

How tall are the home depot spray bottles? I bought some at Walmart but they are really tall. I want to compare the height and I might go and pick up some home depot ones. The Walmart ones are really too tall for my 6 gallon FSB. They make the sterlite container sit a little to high in the bucket.

Still loving the FSB.

I hit up the "travel" section at my local target and they have smaller spray bottles that work great for the FSB and decent quality also. 1

So my Diamond bucket sleeve showed up the other day and I told SWMBO about all the contents of the FSB... SWMBO then dubbed it an "Umpire Purse" not too pleased was I. So I just got an email, she has prepared the FSB for me (see pic).

that didnt work, how do I show a pic?

A SWMBO that sets up and stocks your FSB...

I think I'm in love with your wife. So watch your step.

OK, I just read the whole bucket thread, and yes, I had missed the whole discussion. I am in an unique situation. I work out of a pickup so my setup is a little different. I may take Kevin's lead for some of it but because it is my work truck I carry many things that others don't. I carry a multi tool, flashlight and two knives on my person everyday. I carry six packs of wire ties at all times. I carry a multi-tip screwdriver, two full size first aid kits, two rolls of black gaff and a variety of other tools.

I do need a better way of carrying my bottles for cleaning gear, shoe stings, bug spray and other assorted items. Kevin's bucket is a great solution for this. The thing I am trying to figure out is where to put my camp lantern. Where our adult league is, if I'm not the one running the complex that night, we get left in the dark. The site managers kill the lights as soon as the games are over, I always give the guys a shot at changing out.
