Happy? Mothers Day?

I was BU for an 18u travel ball using FED rules on Mother's Day.

An extremely vocal mom in the stands behind the plate for the HT. A lot of bellyaching on calls I didn't consider that close.

One that was that close was at 1B. I called the HT runner out on a banger.

2 innings later the same runner is attempting to steal second and is tagged on the shin as he slides in. "Out." "That's the second $hitty call you made on me today!" "You're gone. Coach, you'll need a new player here."

At the same time a lot of derogatory comments about my performance are coming from the stands. All of a sudden I hear "You're outta here, too."

I figure the coach got tired of her.

As we're walking to the cars, my partner says "that's the 3rd mother I've gotten on Mother's day over the years!":rollinglaugh:

I did the last day of a tourney on Mother's Day, ....3 games, games 1 and 2 behind the dish .....it's easy .....before you get going, you kindly address the GLM's behind the backstop, and say, ..."happy Mother's Day ladies" ....

how in the world do you guys EJ a fan?... you would never make it in College ball, or any summer college leagues.. what happen to the Umps having some thick skin? we all know the fans have no idea about the game.. Unless they are making a personal threat to you or your partner.. leave the fans alone.

Sounds like momma bear of jr who just got dumped. Unfortunately in some tournament situations you have to take care outside because there is no fulltime TD at the field. Normally I agree with you but I doubt Larry would go freelancing.

yea I will agree there too.. in varsity ball you shouldn't be EJ an fan, like I said Unless it gets to wear a fan threatens a umpire, that is where i draw the line.

I was shocked by it. As I said in the OP, I thought it was the coach who EJ the fan.

My partner is a very good umpire. I found it very strange but we all have our idiosyncrasies.

It doesn't sound to me like an umpire ejected a fan. It sounds like the umpire ejected the kid, and the coach told the mommy she had to go !!
