I'm excited. I just look and saw that my New Balance Plate Shoes, Base Shoes, and Cleats are all scheduled to be delivered today, after me just placing the order yesterday. You can get the plate shoes and the base shoes around $200 before tax, plus free shipping since the order is over $125!!

Ok, I just found out that I could have got them cheaper from ump-attire, but I'm still excited. The main emphasis on my excitement are my new cleats, which I have not been able to find in my size anywhere.

Lol.....I figured that out after I shopped around. I really don't care. I needed the cleats most of all for a softball tournament in two weeks, and it was the only place I can find the wider sizes. I'm just praying that by going up a width my feet will quit hurting all of the time.

Well, it's killing me!

Bwa, bwa, bwaaaaaaaa! :rollinglaugh::D

Sorry dawg, the door was open and I couldn't resist that one!!! ;)

It's all gravy. I tried deleting the post as soon as I put it down, but it was too late. Good news was my purchase was justified. Like I said, I needed the cleats for a tournament next weekend.

^^ I think the gist of Kevin's post is that the players wear cleats (or spikes, "cleats" sounds like football to me), we wear "shoes".

Kind of like every post that comes up when someone says they called "Dead Ball" instead of "Time"...

Not directed at you although I now remember your post. BrianC14 dinged me on that one a few weeks ago, I now call "Time"

Thanks for that, you didn't have to clarify, it's all good! :D

But isn't great to learn EVERY TIME something happens!! I love it!

I won't tell you that I got mine for $150 with tax and shipping... Might make you feel bad.

Well in the spirit of making you feel bad, I got two pairs of NB450 (plate shoes) for less than $150. :D

Now where did you pull that off at? I can't call these things spikes, because they aren't metal cleats. That's the only way I can consider a cleat a spike.

Do you wear both pair at the same time?:Horse::shrug: :)

Bought the first pair at a locally owned store during the off season... got the second pair a year later on sale on a website that offered free shipping.

Now that is lucky....the closest store to here, that I know of, that offers specialized umpire gear is 2 hours away in STL.

I WISH I had one that was that CLOSE!!!!

STL...the Mecca of the baseball world...The greatest show on dirt is played there...the World famous St. Louis Cardinals...I LOVE STL!!!

Which store? I have yet to find one that carries gear.

Johnny Mac's was the only store that I've found that has good umpire gear. Of course it's not for guys my size, more like your norm sizes S-XL

Hope you like them. I've have New Balance plate and base shoes they felt good at first but after some long games I found that they hurt my feet. I now have Reeboks Field Magistrate II Plate and Field shoes they are great. Its like walking on carpet. But everyones feet are diffrent.

Good luck,

Really? I find that hard to believe with the plate shoes. I found the base shoes to be a little uncomfortable at first, but I have loved my plate shoes since day one... Shoot, I've done several innings in the field with my plate shoes before and never had a problem. Honestly, they're one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever owned... Strange how different people's reactions to shoes can be.
