From what I've seen so far this season, it appears that the titanium masks are quite popular among the MLB guys, but, it looks like a lot of them are wearing the Nike frame with Wilson pads, or the Nike mask and pads with the logos blacked out.

On the subject of masks bending:

If you want lightweight materials used to the point where you are hovering around the one pound mark, 2400 pounds of force, aka a 95mph fastball, will bend just about anything. Better a dented mask than a dented face.

To follow up with the topic at hand, I mentioned earlier I sent just a mask frame back to Wilson and had some issues having my warranty covered mask actually get to me.

Well when I came home for Easter break, my new frame was waiting for me. Or so I thought. When I cracked open the box, inside sat a full mask - frame, pads, and harness, even though I had kept the latter two originally. Even better, it was the 3009 with amara suede instead of the 3019 with synthetic vinyl, so a big koudos to Wilson for their outstanding service.

My WV Gold CP is currently floating around customs somewhere and is due to arrive within the week; first games are booked for April 25 - looking forward to trying it out.

Guys, it is undisputed: Wilson is hands down the best equipment you can gear up with on the market. Great products backed by great service.

Yes, a dented mask is better than a dented face, but I can spend less for a heavier mask that doesn't have a tendency to dent on impact. It's a matter of comfort over cost. If you want to fork out more money for a lighter mask that may have be replaced more often, that's your choice. For me, I'll go with something that's going to last.

Looks like I am calling Wilson again this week. Took a foul off the face on Saturday, and cage number 2 is bent. I'm not expecting it, but maybe after a bent cage last summer, and now another bent cage this spring, they'll send me the new model. One can hope, right?

Just curious. What will you do if they don't replace it?

Nope, I agree with you - I use the A3019 or A3009 - works just fine for me.

Buy a new mask, I suppose. If I do, it won't be the titanium again. I love the thing. It's light, has great ventilation, but I can't keep going through them at 250 a pop. If I have to replace it, I am going with the steel cage.

Wilson guarantees it for 1 year and if you bought it with a major credit card chances are they will guarantee it for at least a second year. So if it's been beyond 1 but less than two talk to your credit card company. But you will be SOL if you bought it with a visa/mc debit card.

I took my first real shot of the my FX 2.0 last night. I don't think it is dented. It is kind of sad that they dent so much. I love the helmet. The best thing is that I did not hardly feel anything from a foul straight back.

I had my mouth piece in and I really think that it helped. I have gotten used to wearing the mouth guard this season and I really like it.

The only problem I had was the foul caused some sweat to go in my eye and it took me a second to get to where I could see without my eyes burning.

Simple gangsta solution:

I don't think so...I saw a softball umpire wearing one under his HSM a few weeks ago...did not look that good. I can get by without the cap, but if I went with the skull cap I might have to start "sagging" to complete the gansta' look.

Not anymore. See my new post from tonight about Wilson's "great service".

Not anymore they don't. $200 for an aluminum foil mask. I bet the $75 All Star FM4000 doesn't bend as easily.

All Star posted video on youtube of the air cannon testing that they did on FM4000. Check it out and you will be assured that that frame will protect you.
