  1. No. No points. Shesh, do we need to go over it again? *If you can't realize it, this is nothing but sarcasm.*
  2. I don't know if I am missing something here, but I only see 1 call, you have to hold judgment until the ball is touched, passes 1st/3rd, or stops. So I am not doing anything until one of those 3 happens, then I point fair and let the chips fall where they may.
  3. Hey, are you a MN guy? I only ask because your Avatar is obviously from a Twins game (I recognize the "b" from the "Cub" sign).

  4. In FED you are always awarded 1 base from your last legally acquired base. As there is no type a/b OBS. I have seen it posted that there is only type B OBS in FED.
  5. UIC, wives and old girlfriends asking you to sign checks for this and that do not count as autograph seekers. Neither do parents taking pics of you on their cell phone so they can send them to the league to complain about you count as paparazzi.
  6. Would carrots be considered a performance enhancing drug? Since they are supposed to make your eyesight better. I am looking for away to not have to eat cooked carrot ever again. :agasp_:
  7. Update: 06/22/2009 - Still no completion of my order, no notification of when it will be completed. Update: 07/13/2009 - Still no completion of my order, no notification of when it will be completed. (That makes about 60 days since order was placed.) Update: 07/17/2009 - E-mailed Official's Choice shortly after last post, and still no reply back. I really don't see how a company can operate in this manner. It is one thing to have products that don't seem to meet expectations, but the service is horrendous. Update: 07/23/2009 - Well I my e-mail worked. Sitting at home last night was the free ball bag, plus the additional ball bag I requested for the waiting. Not included any note/packing slip, or response e-mail apologizing for the long wait. It only took 69 days, and 2 e-mails to complete my order. :agasp_:
  8. Outs: 2 Runner: R2 (stealing) Batter: 3-? count Pitch: outside for ball 4 BR begins to walk towards 1B, F2 upon catching the ball outside continues up the line another step and cocks to throw to 3B, but now the BR is in front of him. He takes another step up and this time fires, as the BR now realizes where F2 is and stops. The throw is on the mark, but just a little late (definitely a close play), my BU rules him safe. I call INT on the BR and call him out. Was I correct, or is BI no longer "valid" as this is a BR on a BB? :D
  9. How do you think they got so dang rich? It is not from paying SDS to ump a game and then hit El Pollo Loco after the game.
  10. No, but I have read Playboy to correct the following problems: Using the word "clicker." Calling a "Foul ball" Giving the foul tip signal on a ball that just hit the fence. Making the call at 2B from short RF after making the no-catch call. Balking the hidden ball trick, after a dead ball. Texting my wife, in the middle of an inning. Telling a coach that my partner got the call wrong. There might be some more that have been fixed by reading Playboy, but that is all that I can think of for now. In general, I normally just read it for the articles. (But look at it for other things.)

  12. Yes good job , but I do have 1 question... Were you working a two-man crew, or a 2-man crew? :angel4:
  13. On a feint, doesn't F1 have to disengage as part of the throw. Meaning this... He engages Comes set Steps towords 3B Feints the throw Pulls foot out from rubber re-engages to start pitching again Put another way he cannot engage, set, feint, set, pitch all without disengaging and re-engaging.

  15. If you think your waist will change sizes (for better or worse), then I would go for the 1st choice with the flexible fit.
  16. City/Rec League, no travel pay (all games in the same city), no association dues, FED rules plus some in-house (mostly because all players bat, but also in younger levels a rotation on IF, OF, 9-12th, Majors Plate: $55 (full FED) 9-12th, Majors Bases: $45 7-8th, Bantams Plate: $50 (first level for leading off) 7-8th, Bantams Bases: $40 5-6th, Midgets: $45 (60', first level for stealing after ball crosses the plate) 3-4th, Cubs: $40 (60', first level pitching) 2-3rd, Mites: $35 (Coach pitch, 3 strikes/7 pitches, don't normally get umps until playoffs, then umps tend to have problems)

  18. How exactly does one pronounce the word: snunk?

I would definitely file a report. When I was an RA in college, we would file what we called a "sticky report." It was the standard formal report that would go on file, and then add a sticky note on the top with additional information that might be pertinent, but couldn't/shouldn't be in the report (i.e., what the parents said in the parking lot). Some may see this as "cheating" or "unfair" but it was very effective in getting the info to people who need it with out sacrificing someones anonymity.
  20. Wow IFF to balks, interesting thread make-up.
  21. Always good to have a 'Sconi to pick on! :tantrum:
  22. I think you can change it by editing the first post, then clicking "Go Advanced" and edit the subject. I think this works, but I haven't tried it here yet.
  23. To get back to the original question, I like the WV shins. They fit well and protect well, but you really need to make sure to get some compression pants. They keep you cool, and help with any rubbing that occurs from the pads, or with my the strap-ends.
  24. Could you "catch" the crowd? Instead of "untossing" them?
  25. Do you think that a rule will ever be instated that requires us (umpires) to wear either HSMs or a hard shell cap/helmet?
