I agree and disagree with the check swing, I have been yelled at from the crowd on a couple occasions this year that I was going to the wrong guy on the check swing!!! They yelled at me to go back to school and that I had to go to the umpire in the middle!!! LOL!!!

I have had two differet partners this year that have the tan team wendy pads. They say they love them and I personaly couldnt tell that they made the mask that much heavier...

by taking you a few steps toward home and away from the line will for sure give you a better position for a snap throw down to first. plus it shows the coaches that hey I am still working for ya to make sure the call is right...

Guess I am the lucky one, wife is very supportive, she even went with me out of town this past weekend for a series...

I have been to Harry's School, its a great school and you learn alot but I have to agree with mazzamouth statement. At Harry's you work with the MLB guys 85% of the time and the Minor League Umpires the rest of the time. I have friends who have been to both and I have friends from both schools in the Minors working. From talking to them and talking about how both schools are conducted you seem to get more from Jim's school because you have more Minor League guys working with ya! Just my two cents...
