  2. im in. I started trying the lose weight thing back at the end of April when i stepped on to the scale at 290pounds at 6' 3" my goal is to get down to 240 before the highschool season starts back in february. I am now down 30 pounds to 260 and still working to make the rest fall off. I am using Advocare products while working out and eating right. I feel so much betterafter just dropping 30 pounds can't wait to see how good I feel when the rest falls off!

    Bat warmers

This is the rule i used and deemed it illegal it was 85 degrees outside in Texas no need for the warmer. This was the exact warmer they used. I have since went back and looked through the USSSA rules and they have no amendments to overrule 6.06D so I will continue to enforce this rule against the bat warmers until an amendment to the rules is in place! i received an email that was forwarded to me from the manufacturer of the warmer the day after I enforced this apparently the dad called them and complained. They sent a copy of the press release but no rules citation overruling so they can still bite me and I am going to enforce the rule!

    Bat warmers

Can someone give me a rules reference in OBR and USSSA for the use of bat warmers? Legal or illegal?
  6. I was calling a local playoff game a few years ago and the field being in the middle of a neighborhood had a tornado siren right next to it. It just happened to be the 1st of the month and time for the monthly test at the same time the pitcher was trying to deliver a pitch and I had to explain to the coach why I was not calling a balk on the kid when the siren went off and scared the crap out of everyone.
  7. I am assuming he was going to pick up his bat but if not it was because he is just a dumb kid lol. I called the runner out when it happened but wasnt sure if i was correct or not because I had never seen or heard of this happening.
  8. I'm thinking this is probably the correct answer 7.09 It is interference by a batter or a runner when— (e) Any batter or runner who has just been put out, or any runner who has just scored, hinders or impedes any following play being made on a runner. Such runner shall be declared out for the interference of his teammate; Rule 7.09(e) Comment: If the batter or a runner continues to advance after he has been put out, he shall not by that act alone be considered as confusing, hindering or impeding the fielders.
  9. This unfortunately doesnt cover it and when you read on in the comments to Rule 3.15 it stilll fails to cover this situation 3.15 No person shall be allowed on the playing field during a game except players and coaches in uniform, managers, news photographers authorized by the home team, umpires, officers of the law in uniform and watchmen or other employees of the home club. In case of unintentional interference with play by any person herein authorized to be on the playing field (except members of the team at bat who are participating in the game, or a base coach, any of whom interfere with a fielder attempting to field a batted or thrown ball; or an umpire) the ball is alive and in play. If the interference is intentional, the ball shall be dead at the moment of the interference and the umpire shall impose such penalties as in his opinion will nullify the act of interference. Keep going. In the comments it then goes on to describe what to do if the base coach is involved - notwithstanding what the rule says. And this is being hit with a throw, not interfering with the fielder as he attempts to field the ball. base coach was not involved in the play it was the batter/runner that got hit by thrown ball after being put out on the catch
  10. would OBR 7.09 (E) apply? I think this is probably going to answer the question. 7.09 It is interference by a batter or a runner when— (e) Any batter or runner who has just been put out, or any runner who has just scored, hinders or impedes any following play being made on a runner. Such runner shall be declared out for the interference of his teammate; Rule 7.09(e) Comment: If the batter or a runner continues to advance after he has been put out, he shall not by that act alone be considered as confusing, hindering or impeding the fielders.

  12. R3 1 out foul pop fly to right field, ball is caught for 2nd out. R3 tags and attempts to score ball is thrown home an there is going to be a close play at the plate, but the ball hits the batter/runner in the back as he is making his way back down the 1st baseline headed towards 3rd base dugout. What do we have? I would like a rules reference for FED and OBR if anyone can find it please.
  13. alright guys as we all know its April Fools Day. What are some April fools day pranks that you have pulled off on the baseball field or thought of doing? We all like to have fun out there so I know some of you have probably pulled of some good stuff. Let's hear it!!
  14. They are allowed by our chapter in Beaumont and the state website allows them. Who is telling you that you can't wear pro blue? Black is the new official TASO base color effective in 2015 or 2016. So, that is clearly allowed. I don't guess that anyone is telling us we can't...just that nobody has them. Maybe it is a local issue. Log into the TASO website and click on Taso baseball operating procedures link and on page 20 it lists all approved colors and combinations that may be worn during a UIL sanctioned game. The new pro style solid black with white piping down the side (not on sleeves and collar) and solid powder blue with black piping down the sides ARE NOT ALLOWED to be worn while working High School games.
  15. Finally BASEBALL!!Thursday through Monday 17 games!!
