Hey all, Wayne, I feel your pain! I am 6'4' @290lbs with size 14's. Honig's polywools plate pants and ultimate combo pants for the bases and 2x shirts through them as well. Shoes wherever I can find the right size when I need them. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, I have one very important question. Was the pitch a ball or strike, and possibly strike three? If it was, then I got the second out as the K, and bang R1 out on the interference. It's POSSIBLE! Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, Since it is a jump turn, IF I am not mistaken, the feet can pretty much land anywhere as long he gains distance and direction toward first base initially. I would say good move because R1 making a legitimate attempt to get to the next base would eliminate the mandate of a throw. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, Last Tuesday, I doubled my career total for ejections! (2 to 4) The thing that I liked about it was that they were no brainer ejections for players getting physical with each other in a HS Frosh game. Bottom of the 7th, home team losing by 6. The leadoff batter hits a ground ball and the throw pulls F3 off the bag. The BR avoids the tag, but passes first without touching it. The F3 proceeds to tag him in the middle of his back because the BR is on his hands and knees. The BR, I guess, thought that the tag was too hard because he then gets up and proceeds to shove the F3. Bingo #1! Well, the pitcher didn't like that, so he comes running off the mound and proceeds to retaliate against the BR with a little shoving of his own. Bingo #2! I love it when they do it to themselves! I also love it when the rest of the players decide to NOT get involved. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, I use the Diamond umpire bag (36" version). I have room enough to keep everything in there that I need. You can see my review here. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, The first year they came out, I got the Poly wools. I still wear the poly's on the plate and the ultimate combo on the bases. And, yes, like Brian said, they are straight BUTTAH! Bigdog:cool: -

Hey all, Thanks for the responses. This is my first year doing "Fedlandia" and I must have over looked that wording or just didn't absorb it. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, Maybe I have overlooked it, but what rule reference for the hands having to be at or below the chin? I don't have my book with at the moment, but I don't remember reading this requirement on the stretch position. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, Oh, yeah, the reply to the topic! I have not heard what CA officially says about these bats yet, but, if I understand the " smooth, round stick" part of the rule correctly, it applies to the barrel of the bat. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, My youngest son played on a travel ball team this past fall. One of, if not the, best power hitters on that team used a cheap/inexpensive bat. Last year in LL, my son hit a 400' HR with a $45-50 bat from Big5. The point I try to put out there for anyone I talk to about this topic is that if they want to crush monster home runs, they have to just hit home runs; to hit home runs, they have to hit the ball hard; to hit the ball hard, they have to hit the ball solidly; to hit the ball solidly, they have to use good mechanics, see the ball well, and have a bat that is the correct size for them. If any of these factors comes up short, the whole process of hitting suffers. Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, They would be if they would at least try something DIFFERENT every once in a while! Bigdog:cool:

Hey all, Only 1 game as catcher for me. I was an outfielder with a great glove:), big arm:clap:, and no bat:shrug: . I ended up playing 1st base on a regular basis because of the glove and, being 6'4", the stretch ability. It was after I started to play softball that I learned proper hitting techniques, and by then, too late. Bigdog:cool:

Do you carry your rulebook to the field?

Hey all, Keeping in mind that this is for LL, I will give a manager a chance to look it up AFTER hearing my explanation of the rule covering what just happened. Notice I didn't say MLB, NCAA, or even NFHS. LL level coaches. I have never had a LL game that I have worked protested. If it takes sixty seconds to make a manager realize that he doesn't know the rules and to keep him quiet, then I am for it! Bigdog:cool: -
