  6. Skip to 1:25...I always tell myself this on the field....Keep your eye on the fruit! keep your eye on the fruit!
  7. You said it....best equipment for a beginner is the BEST EQUIPMENT
  8. For the mask pads Team Wendy has instructions on their website. Bottom Resources Product Brochure has it. Cleaning Instructions: 1. Machine wash on gentle cycle 2. Wring out any excess moisture 3. Air-dry complete.
  9. 11 games in the past 3 days. Hello baseball season!

  10. Thanks yall! Like I said it was a good play by f6. Runner beat the throw and he was safe....like i mentioned the score or outs did not matter...maybe he felt he deserved an out call.
  11. Outs and score do not matter. Ball hit into deep F6 so I know its going to be a close play. F6 makes a diving stop pops up amd throws. Ball takes a hop before first, runner beat the ball to the bag. Coach yells "recognize a good play!" I could care less what he thinks. Do some umpires feel indifferent? Calling him out when its that close? The batter busted his ass and so did F6.
  12. "The 1st amendment doesn't say I have to listen to bullSH*#. Just 'cause farting's legal don't mean I gotta shove my nose in your asshole."

  14. Trust your gear! When you flinch you are more vulnerable to injury. With lower level baseball tracking the ball all the way thru may help you bail early if your catcher does not catch/block the ball.
  15. Got mine in the mail yesterday. Provides a lot of scenarios and covers different rules....College baseball is different monster geeeez
  16. You might just be an umpire if....you bring your own folding lawn chair inside the regional meeting! Got a good laugh when I saw this umpire walk in with his own lawn chair.
  17. I got mine off amazon.com.
  18. $1,371? from Barnes and Noble! I bought one off Amazon for $21 and some change. Saw some of the older editions going for $200+. Is there a certain reason for the big price difference from $15-$200?
  19. Burn the Smitties! They are my off season pants....PW's are not cheap! Got the smittys off ebay brand new for $25 for plate and base! It was a great steal! It's like a limp d**k you can't beat it!
  20. Yesterday I had a varsity game with low level playing teams. I have a set of smitty's for plate and base, I also have a set of Honigs polywools.....as I debated which to wear for the game I thought to myself. 1) its a low level varsity game why wear the polywools 2) you never know who is recording or watching wear the polywools! 3) its a varsity game regardless but I just dry cleaned my polywools. I said to my self..... GO POLYWOOL OR GO HOME!

    Abandonment

We had an abandonment situation Saturday...runner slid into 2nd and was called safe by the base umpire...the running thinking he was out starts trotting towards his 3rd base dugout....his coach yells STAY ON THIRD he then jumps on 3rd base.....the runner did not cross foul territory nor did the 3rd base coach assist him (which I was looking for being the home plate umpire). Defensive coach wants an out call for abandonment. Of course he argues with the base umpire not me....runner stayed on 3rd and of course scores on a passed ball next pitch.
  22. Aren't we all perfect virtual umpires?
  23. Good example of what? I don't see OBS under OBR/LL, and the runner appeared to be safe. Good example of an umpire who just learned a rule, maybe. We kinda determined that the safe or out didn't make a difference? So someone help me clarify the OBR rule on this. If this had been FED there is no doubt it is OBS. It's not OBS in FED. Clearly the fielder gave the runner access to the base. But did he have the ball prior to Good example of what? I don't see OBS under OBR/LL, and the runner appeared to be safe. Did the first baseman have the ball prior to putting his left foot in front of the bag? Positioning his body in front of the bag...1st baseman are coached to straddle the bag to avoid this judgment call.
  24. I know it's little league but here is a good example.
