  1. Interference. No question.
  2. I agree with this. I do not call location and tell any umpires I mentor not to do this.
  3. I am an assigner in Canada where any umpire income is not reportable/taxed. Also the umpires are paid in cash at the field by the teams. I do all my assigning the old way over the phone and on paper. Only high tech I do is post assignments to a web site for all to see. I assign about 40 to 50 games a week.
  4. As an umpire, I would have to see this. This would be a judgement call. If the umpire thought that the B/R could have reached first safely without stopping due to the missed call (IFF) then they should rule this to correct the call. If not, the ruling should be out due to the tag of first and not the IFF.

    Ground Ruled Double

The ground rule I would be referring to would be where was out of play.
  6. It was not that long ago that both my wife and son umpired. I was able to umpire many games with them. There was even one instance where we formed a 3 man squad and worked a game. This will not happen again as my wife has retired from umpiring and my son has moved out of province and married. He still umpires and in fact I was able to umpire a game with him the day before his wedding last year.

    Ground Ruled Double

Local ground rules may apply. Is "over the hill" considered out of play ? If so, then this may be a double even if something just short of this may in normal circumstances be a triple.
  8. Correct award is 2 bases from time of pitch. Therefor 3b. Maven is correct.
  9. Totally agree !
