  1. Wow, you guys must really suck, I never miss a call.
  2. Anyone else notice U1 caught napping out of position on that appeal? That is his call, correct? Shows that even the best make a mistake now and again. Luckily the baseball Gods seem to like them more than us.
  3. I'm pretty sure that's illegal in at least 49 states.
  4. They told me there wouldn't be math involved! Forget this, I quit!
  5. This had better not turn into a seven page thread detailing where Greg Gibson is during every series or I may just cry.
  6. "Mr. Mid American, may I use the bathroom please?" Sorry, just practicing.
  7. I ACCEPT. I'm 5'9" and 210 pounds. I'd like to be at 190 by January 1st when I leave for Wendelstedt.
  8. I (somewhat strongly) disagree with some of the content, but other than that it looks good.
  9. Sheesh, @Majordave, how many buttons did you push!?!?
  10. ... I was just testing you. And you passed. Actually, I've always just copied and pasted the link and never had a problem. Your post is the first I've ever heard of removing slashes or anything like that.
  11. I really like Carapazza's ejection of David Ross. It's as textbook as it gets, and you can read his lips to see what is said. So many videos of MLB guys end up as what NOT to do, this is a great example of how to handle a conflict. Pay attention to the end, where they show Carapazza through the entire event. http://m.mlb.com/video/v35601535/seabos-ross-ejected-after-disputing-strikeout/?query=ejection
  12. Aren't you supposed to pull a @JaxRolo and get upset that someone deleted it, even though you never actually posted it? http://umpire-empire.com/index.php/topic/55695-someone-deleted-my-7000th-post/page-2
  13. I prefer the double throat jab safe mechanic with a karate-like "YA!!" with it.
  14. Nevada is slowing her down and it's getting to her. It's great. Announcers have no idea what a quick pitch is though.
  15. PU in Nevada/PA game looks good. He stopped her from quick pitching too. "I will point to you when you can pitch!"
  16. Not only was this a terrible decision from Williamsport, but I'm not even entirely convinced it WASN'T a dead ball strike... If the batter had started jumping up and down shaking his hand, I bet it would have stayed 0-1. IMO, it was not even conclusive that it was a fair ball.
  17. I got voluntold into doing a charity slow pitch softball tournament… Seven games, one hour time limits, a whopping $10/game… I tried saying no, but it didn't work. Eventually I got stuck doing them. I don't know slow pitch softball other than watching my brother play a little a few years ago. I'm told coming in that there will be a mat, and it will be easy. Of course I show up and it's the most unorganized thing of all time. There's no mat, so I have to pretend to know the strike zone, there are no rules, so they change them on a game by game basis, and it's all simply chaotic. You'd think the players would tone it down and care at least a little less in a CHARITY tournament, but nope. They told me at the beginning that all walks were doubles because it was a co-ed tournament. So of course, in game number four of the day, a woman walks, I send her to second, four batters later, the TD (if you can call her that) YELLS across the field that it's only for when you walk males. I'm annoyed now, because she told me different, so I step back and let her figure out whatever she wants to do. They place runners wherever they want and we carry on. The next pitch I ball inside… I hear the TD say "And THAT was right down the middle!"… I give her "THE LOOK". I scared the crap out of her, it was hilarious. She got all nervous and started smiling and laughing trying to play it off as a joke. Her friend started cracking up and announced "You got the death stare! That was a total death stare!" The games completed without me ejecting anyone or without anyone breaking a hip, so I consider myself lucky.
