I had one of those last night. 4th inning, 0-0 and R1 steals second, and as he is getting up he steps off the base for a moment and is tagged - OUT. From then on out everytime a guy stole they were asking for time after the steal. I guess they learned their lesson.

Assuming the catcher is standing there with the ball, as soon as his misses the plate the catcher can tag him?

Yes... in baseball time, it was very long.

Rec ball 15 and up Play at first... BR is out by 2 or 3 steps. F3 stretches for ball and gloves it. He stays in that position for a good 2 or 3 seconds. He slowly comes up to a standing position, lifts his hand up, and oops... the ball comes out of his glove. Now the time from when he caught the ball to to the drop probably took a good 5 secs or so and the runner was "out by a mile" There wasn't any question as to whether he had it or not. (not a snow cone catch or he was working his glove to make sure he had it) So would you consider this an out and two seperate occurances? (catching the ball and then standing up) Or one, long drawn out action with an involuntary relase at the end? Thanks

OBR - R1 and R3 Ball hit to F6 - R1 intentionally interfers with player at second trying to turn the double play. I know that the runner at first can then be called out, but what happens to R3? Does he score or does he go back? Typically, interference results in a dead ball and no one advances but I don't know if this falls in the same category. Thanks

Seems like I hear a lot about having to do LL games with only one ump. Why not in a situation like this where it's more or less a scrimmage game, just toss him the ball and say "why don't you do the game" and leave. No skin off your nose. See what his reaction would be to that. Plenty more "real" games for you to do in other places.

And the fans start booing. Most of them probably had no idea what was going on.
