  1. I wear the Nike Air Max. Best base shoe I have ever worn. #2 on my list is the Reebok Pro Hex Trainer from 12 yrs ago. I still have a brand new pair in my closet. Not sure if I will ever wear them....
  2. These prices are list. My guess the polo shirt will be around $38.99... convertible jacket $59.99 and the Therma jacket $84.99
  3. The Dry-Lo is the best bag on the market. All MiLB and MLB Umpire were issued them. They also make them without pockets...which are nice. Ump-Attire bags are too small..IMHO
  4. The funny thing is that I have 2 pair of brand new MLB slacks in my closet. I have no desire to sell them but.......$400.00....nah, I still won't sell um. I have an Official's Locker Room that Brian Runge stepped in..........I'll take $250 for it!!!! lol
  5. Try www.santaclaus.com Seriously, stick with a plain black 1.75 belt.
  6. What I like about a New Era Cap is that the crown is higher than a Richardson cap. The only place I know to get NE blank umpire caps is Lester's....and they are phasing them out. I am not a big fan of richardson caps.... but it looks like they are the only game in town. Good Luck. BTW, if you want to wear a MLB cap in a casual setting I would suggest getting a MLB stars and stripes cap. They are very nice.
  7. Mechanicly speaking, you should call the lead runner safe first.....then call the trail runner out. I am not sure if this would of prevened any confusion with the runners?
  8. Blank??? What has this place turned into....Match Game '75????
  9. Sorry boys...... not going to be available to the general public. The new shirts are made of what Majestic calls their "Cool Base" material. I remember when the MLB guys switched to Navy in 1996. Everyone wanted those shirts. It is going to be a long time before this new design makes it to the public. BTW, MiLB is going black this season, wasn't sure if the word was out there on that yet.
  10. Then there's The Official's Locker Room. What a loser that guy is........
  11. If you want less bulkiness around the shoulders, and you wear the Gold, here is some advise. Velcro holds the shoulder pad to the shoulder cap. However, the pad does not contour the cap very well. Send your vest to Douglas or go to your local shoe repair and see if they can attach rivets so the pad fit snug in the plastic cap........by doing this the cap will fit your shoulders better. You can also have the shoe guy seam rip the stitch that holds the shoulder pad to the vest body and raise it up an inch or so. The cap will sit better on your shoulder. Good Luck.
  12. The Gold comes in 2 sizes...M/L and L/XL. I am 5-10 200 and I would wear a M/L. IMHO, it is the best protector that is currently being produced. If you do get one you might want to take a seam ripper and remove the pec pads. Good Luck.
  13. Hi Jim...... western top pocket is a style that IMHO is outdated. If you want to see what they look llike follow the link and scroll down to western pocket. http://www.mytailor.com/BrowseSlacks.aspx To answer your other questions I need to know what sport you are umpiring and the level....and your weight, height and build. Thanks
  14. I stopped in to check out their new protective line. The new equipment is very nice...and reasonably priced. The new mask is great as well as the shins and new CP. I would also recommend their Ultimate Pant..... by far a better pant than Smitty or some others. I pride myself as a equipment expert and IMHO Honigs has made great strides to offer new equipment at great prices. I think they even carry that changing room thingy but I could be wrong.....
  15. I sometimes ask my partners if they brought their stike zone with them today? Does that count as gear? LOL I didnt see any Locker Rooms mentioned in this thread... you really know how to hurt a guy....
  16. Don't read too much into that... Jimmy did not start his school til 1989. Jim bought out Joe's school some years back, so he counts his student's successes. I have been to Jimmy's 1.7 times**.... Great facilities and a great teacher..and friend. ** long story
  17. A great place to get a belt is a police/fire uniform store. There is usually one driving distance and you don't need to pay for shipping from an officials supplier. 1 3/4" is standard for postal uniforms. You can wear 1 1/2 or 1 3/4".... your choice. I would stay away from a patent leather belt. They were popular 6-7 years ago, but they are fading out of style. Plain black!!!! Looks good.
  18. I know it is referred to as the "V" or the cone but the bottom line is this. With runners on in 2 man, the BU is responsible for all flyballs in the outfield.....unless the PU calls him off by saying " I got the ball...or I'm on the line. Now if there is an "iffy" ball hit...... you, as the BU has to take a peek and see if you plate guy is coming up the line before making a call. You don't want double calls. That play needed a "no catch" mechanic....by someone. Communication is HUGE in a play like this.... There is a DVD put out by MLB and PBUC that explains 2 man.... might be a good investment. Good Luck.
