  1. I was on the bases last year with R2. Batter comes to the plate and I hear R2 tell F6 he made his bat in wood shop. “TIME”! The bat was 29” 52oz. I nicknamed it “Bam Bam”.

  2. Ha! That makes sense when you put it that way. But I'm a first year ump and found it puts me out of a "rhythm", for lack of better words, when I have to think about seeing it right on my indicator and calling it in "reverse order" of what my indicator shows. So, I switched to a call order indicator just to it one less thing I need to worry about.

  3. So just a random wonder here. Why are the majority of indicators strike then ball? Not like call order indicators where balls, then strikes are displayed. I use a call order indicator and find it much easy and just one last thing to have to "think about" while in the game. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

  4. Close Call Sports Studios in consultation with Pitch Clock Productions presents UEFL's Ump Show, the video game that puts you behind the plate as an umpire for a virtual big league baseball game, giving you the chance to call the action to 100% accuracy...or turn it into a real #UmpShow full of ejections and controversy. Umpire Ejection Fantasy League, in association with Close Call Sports Media Group, has taken officiating mechanics and created a virtual world that rivals the best baseball simulations in the market, you know, the mainstream abominations that restrict the user to controlling players and teams. Ump Show has none of it, dedicating its revolutionary Dana DeMicroSAM™engine to the boys and girls in blue and black...but be forewarned: as in real life officiating, there are no slow-motion replays (unless you're playing in Replay Official Mode™), and one shot at full speed from the angle you have chosen is all you get. Our program doesn't even have a pause button, allowing for the mini-game, "Sprint to the Dugout Bathroom," a 60-second journey down the stairs. Want to run the skip? It's your call to make. And if your calls don't meet to the realistically irrational satisfaction of either manager produced by our cutting edge Mattingly Algorithm™, you'll hear chirping and gain access to Ump Show's state of the art Game Management Feature™, where you can discipline or ignore potential misconduct by issuing warnings and ejections. Careful! If your fuse is too short, you'll see a TILT (Trigger Initiation Limit Tool) and receive downgrades from BOB™, your virtual supervisor (derived from "RoBOBserver Manfried Hard Drive"), but if you're too lenient, both clubs will jump all over you and potentially start a forfeit-inducing fight, which will get you in hot water with your crew chief, CompuKlem™ 9000. The WEST application.Choose your character directly from a template of The Show's 20 roster umpires, or create your own unique avatar using the proprietary Wendel-stencil Entertainment Studio Tool™ (aka the WEST), choosing your path through school for a shot at the show. Ump Show currently offers Hunter Hall and Corporate College as two paths to the pros. It's all your call in Ump Show, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the game. 5. Same here. Pet peeve. Umps that constantly check their indicators sometimes after every pitch. Just notch the wheels or, at least, adjust your mask with your left hand and take a peek

  6. Just Google “balls on top.” You’ll find what you need.

  7. Take the elbow armor away. What would the batter had done if he knew he was going to get hit in the elbow by a 95mph fastball? 100% he would have done anything other than what he did with the armor. If anyone has ever been hit in the elbow with a pitch at any velocity...you go out of your way to not have that happen again. This is almost impossible to get in real time. But it's pretty clear after video review.

  8. That's what I am starting to wonder about ... they are making a big deal about these "new rules" that, um, don't appear to be in the rule book. The only thing I could find is that the pitcher has 12-seconds to deliver a pitch with no runners on base ... and that isn't what we've seen. Pitcher delays, 5.07(c) I edited my post above and added the link to the 2023 book. To put words in Yogi Berra's mouth, "If it ain't there, it's in the fine print." Yes, I am umpining.
