I'm sorry, and I know we're not supposed to speak poorly of other umpires' work, but neither of the umpires in this situation bothered to eject the juvenile delinquent in this situation? :):TD::wow::TD:

Wouldn't you just love to be the next guy that works a game for this team?

And their coach - he sounds like a real rocket scientist. Here's $0.25, buddy - go buy a clue - they're on sale at Target. :WTF

Toss him out of the game and the into the slammer.

I am convinced in my mind that if any player or coach touches me, I will swear out a complaint and let the law handle it.:WTF

Well if the umpires didn't do anything, I hope the school takes some action.

Read some of the comments after that story - especially the one about the guy pulling a gun on a ballfield....

I doubt they'll do anything to this kid... this is in Philadelphia, where the inmates are running the asylum.

Maybe he should be put in jail? There's nothing "cool" about what he did. How would you feel about having to suffer a long day while you're working and then being attacked for no reason? He needs to suffer the fullest consequenses for his actions.

Grow up. Imagine you or your hoodlum friend just doing your job and as soon as your finished saying ... Would you like fries with that... you get decked. Not cool.

The umpire showed incredible restraint in not retaliating because he can't for 2 reasons. He's an adult and the player is a kid, and he's the authority figure.

If the umpire does not file charges I hope the DA's office will bring this to a grand jury to make a case with out the umpire's help and put an injunction against him playing in or even going to public sporting events.

I was stationed in the old Philadelphia Navy Yard twice in my career and enjoyed my time in the area the two of you don't represent your area well.

Had I done something like this when I was young I wouldn't have lived long enough to worry about being suspended, I probably wouldn't have made it off the field. My father - who taught me how to be a real man not an egomaniac with a bad attitude and zero respect for others - would have torn me up.

Dimes to dollars this kid has no father. That's the problem with todays fatherless, don't dicipline your kids, children are never wrong left wing society.

Enough said I'll go back to lurking.

What a moron. Just because the player is a minor, that doesn't mean he can go chest to chest with anybody. Of course the umpire moved him back. This doesn't excuse a kid decking an umpire. There is a huge difference between moving a kid back and shoving him.

What a terrible comment to make. :WTF First off, I don't care if it's an 8 yr old or a 38 yr old. You are NOT going to violate my space and get in my face. :bang: He had every right to hold the kid at bay. Second, I've done city games and quite frankly don't do not accept games inside city limits......let alone that neighborhood. There's a mentality that I don't condone nor like. :fuel:

I like what the other coach said about it. ." If one of my kids had done that, I would have been fired and in jail by [today]. You just don't put your hands on an umpire!" Hmmm. What does that say about the coach (of the kid who hit the umpre) and the league in general? There may be more to it but I don't really believe it. :WTF:P
