dumbdumb Posted October 9 Report Posted October 9 did delauter "make an attempt" to go to second on the overthrow at first to double him up in the top of first in chicago. he went back to first kind of fast. @johnny08 might be the only one who can find the play and show it. gary darling, "I've called it an attempt for less than that" when asked about one of his partner's making that call. there was no play made on him, but just wondering if there had been a play and they tagged him before he got back to first, would anyone have called him out for making an attempt to go to second. 1 Quote

Copy that! Here's the best I can do right now. Cool clip. Like many of our plays, I think this one is all about the angle. Quote
Coach Carl Posted October 9 Report Posted October 9 Watching it live, I saw it immediately and thought he definitely did. Alomar looks like he did, as well since he pointed back to first (which you don't see here as it cuts off just before). 1 Quote

But, 'looks like he did' means both of us are getting scratched and blackballed for life if we call it in the games we work. for some reason any thing like an obvious flinch on a balk that anyone would call and people would agree with, if that type of reasoning is used on this type of play, you will get crucified, rather than be considered great gutsy call like that obstruction at third in the playoffs a while ago. and if an obvious flinch toward second is not considered as an "attempt" by the rule on this type of play, well then we should not call it as such either. Velho Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 I'm a believer that there is body language U1 can read but that doesn't come across on video. Personally, I don't see it but have zero issue with someone that does. I will say that, imo, if one of your arguments for the OC discussion is that 1BC pointed him back, you're out on a weak branch. And a question. maybe i am flinching, but for you or Marcus. I am not seeing either of the National League games Sunday October 4, 2026 in Milwaukee or in LA with the ump scorecards statistics on that game 2 for both teams in the division series. Were those games somehow having the hawk eye system go down or what, and conveniently for both games on the same day. both games are showing as having been played on that day in the MLB scores for the day. What am i missing. i are not that smart. maybe there were no games on that day and i was pulling up last years scores or something. Quote

Same. They are on statcast so the systems seem like they were up. There is a mother site with more / better summaries, I did a quick search and couldn't find it. Quote
