The yellow is soccer, and the white T-slots are for, as @JSam21 noted, marching band practice. 

I’m sure there’s another rectangular swatch of turf nearby, surrounded by proper stands, and lights, and goal posts, and other facilities for football… and soccer (b & g)… and lacrosse / field hockey (b & g)… but Heaven forbid anyone uses it to practice on! It has to stay game-ready at all times!
