Does anybody have this mask? Iv had the CP for over 20 years. Just looking for the mask frame.

Jeff ( @Thunderheads ) had it, or at the very least, he made his own replica. The distinguishing characteristics of the Riddell Power mask are the strut-less ear guards, and the open-frame extended throat guard. Otherwise, it shares the same novel-for-the-time single bar layout with the Wilson DynaLite, albeit dipped in vinyl.

The pads are nothing special. Any leather pads that have survived 20 years of service should either be submitted to a research lab, or buried as “seeding” for a next crop of pads. Aiy yai yai.

And somewhere in the baseball landscape, @tpatience is writing your name on a list. 😉

Thanks... I KNEW a long time member had one at some point. Just couldn't remember who... and Keith was a safe choice. 😁

For the record, Jeff had his created out of an old Wilson Dynalite steel mask. He had Tony cut out the ear and chin struts to make a Riddell replica.

For some reason I remember (and my memory can be faulty... just ask SWMBO), someone had a Riddell mask

I can't remember the guy, but there was an MLB guy I think that finally found one on eBay a few years back.   I know John McSherry had one and sold it on here several years back too.

Here's the one Jeff built with Belgard pads:

If it was me listing this, I would have said it was "Riddell adjacent" just cause I always found that real estate description funny.

It’s not a true Riddell, but man this is close!

It's better, because it's powdercoated, not vinyl-dipped.

Vinyl... only belongs on turntables, not on houses or masks.

I actually bought this old Wilson mask on ebay. I cut out the gussets on the interior part of the throat guard. The protective ear “wings” stayed as is. I sent it to Tony to get it powder coated. Pads are HONIGS. Harness is Champro. I sold the mask to an umpire in CA. He wanted the cage only.
