I actually bought this old Wilson mask on ebay. I cut out the gussets on the interior part of the throat guard. The protective ear “wings” stayed as is. I sent it to Tony to get it powder coated. Pads are HONIGS. Harness is Champro. I sold the mask to an umpire in CA. He wanted the cage only.

I’m happy with the retrofit CP padding Michael and his team put together for me. The construction is superb. Material is cut and sewn very professionally. His team does great work! I was hit by a low 70’s HS fastball and a low 80’s college fastball. No trouble presented. I feel extremely confident wearing my CP. During my next college series, I should see some mid 80’s fastballs. I will update you if I take another hit.

I had Michael and his partners retrofit my Wilson CP, and I love it. The materials used are superb compared to the original Wilson padding and protection offered is awesome! I’ve taken hits in upper level HS games and College games and have felt nothing except a very weak sounding thud. I’m thrilled with my “new” protector.

I’m a recent purchaser of the Belgard umpire mask pads. I hear some of you say you like them for both looks and safety. Others say they like the looks, but the pads might not be as safe as ALL-Star mag pads or TW pads. My question is does anyone know of any testing that’s been done for the Belgard pads? I have the W style pads. They are extremely comfortable. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
