While we are at it, give credit to crew chief Angel Campos who got the crew together before ejecting the player.  No over-reaction here!  BTW, I believe Angel will be on the CWS umpire crew beginning Friday.

Know what’s driving all this in college athletics? 

In the baseball world, a contributing factor to this is MiLB’s contraction / elimination of 45 Minor League clubs, and the increased focus on college baseball for scouting, analysis and development. MLB has taken a cue from the NFL, which has been using NCAA (BCS, specifically) football as their minor leagues for decades. 

Know what’s driving this?? N•I•L. Name… Image… Likes*, and the payout $$$ that is reaped in because of it. If there’s money to be had, you better believe the NCAA wants to control it.

*- Yes, I know it’s supposed to be “Likeness”. It may as well be Likes, though, because Likes have become a twisted form of currency.
