Got a like new WV and two masks for $35. Only problem is the previous owner removed the shoulder protection. Anyone know how to snap these back on ? He only had the washers.

It looks like those were just rivets, right?  Either a re-rivet, or replace with a couple of appropriate sized chicago screws.

Okay! Here’s my advice… 

You’ll need: 

• Some 3-inch webbing (I’m pointing you to silver, but of course there’s black; I’d recommend live it up! • A butane torch
• Scissors
• Cheap, cheap scratch awl
• Chicago Screws, at least 12. 8 needn’t be longer than 1/4-3/8”, while the other 4 need to be at least 3/8”, perhaps no more than 1/2” long. 
• A method by which to destroy and remove rivets 

I destroy rivets by using a 1/4” shank die grinder, some cutterheads that are carbide or diamond coated. I’ve used a drill before, with cobalt drill bits, but that’s tedious. 

Now, while you’ll be reconstructing this, it might be the opportune time to replace the T-hooks with side release buckles, and perhaps install the Grayhawk Mod ( @grayhawk ) so those shoulder pauldrons don’t roll to the back of your shoulders when you tug your shirt on over it.
