TW mask pads, bought about 4-5 (?) years ago. Kept as extra pads in the bag and never used. Bag kept in bedroom closet, not a cold garage or anything.

Found them today and pulled out to get the bag ready for the season. They feel a little firm, but I can tell the foam does bounce back eventually. Ok to use? Pitch ‘em?

I would say they should be fine. Yes they have a shelf life. But to my knowledge, that is out in the sun/weather and being used. Not sitting in storage.

Agree.  If I remember correctly, it's the ozone in our breath that causes the pads to break down and become unsafe.  If they were sealed, I'd guess would be fine.

Do we honestly believe the manufacturer's are only sending us pads that they just produced this year?  If we do think that, then what do they do with their new, unused & unsold pads if they go bad after a year or two in storage?

I had 2 pairs of TW pads and to be honest, I could never get any satisfaction from them. My first pair I got came in a trade I made with a retiring umpire. The quality of manufacture was poor as the stitching was amateurish. I changed them into my gamer mask and gave them a good try. I never could get them to fit my mask correctly and they never softened up to fit my face. I eventually passed them on for free to someone who wanted to give TW a try.

I bought another pair and I found them better in most aspects, but they just didn't wow me in any way. I went back to Honig's Doeskin mask pads.  Just my .02

@Catch18, um yeah...those pads? Those pads that were ahhhh...sittin' in your closet? Yeah...those pads are no good now. If you would please ahhhh...you know...send them to me? I will be delighted to ahhhh dispose of them for you...🙃

Kidding, kidding...

Yeah, those pads are fine.

@Stan W., I have the same feelings about TWs and prefer the All-Star Mag pads.
